About AJ – AJ’s Little Artists
AJ’s Little Artists is my creative project offering family-friendly Art Lab Tours in Rome, designed for families with kids.
I’m AJ, an art historian and licensed tour guide, and I love helping kids (and their grown-ups!) discover the fun and magic of art. Born and raised in London, I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by museums and art galleries. As a child, my parents often took me to these cultural havens, where I would wander with crayons and a notebook, drawing inspiration from the artworks.
We also traveled frequently to new places, sparking my love for exploration and art. I’m forever grateful to my parents for instilling in me a passion for travel and art, and for encouraging me to engage in artistic activities in such stimulating environments. This nurturing eventually led me to pursue a career dedicated to sharing that same spark with children.
I’ve been living in Rome, my adopted city, for eight years, having moved here to pursue a master’s degree in Art History. For the last seven years, I have been guiding tours and offering family art workshops in Rome for children.
After years of working with families from all over the world, I’ve learned how to make Rome come alive for both kids and grown-ups. So I've recently created ArtLab Tours, family-friendly experiences that blend guided tours with artistic expression—helping children connect to the city by creating their own artworks along the way.
I feel incredibly lucky to have a job that allows me to share my passion and knowledge of Rome with curious minds, and I can’t wait to guide you and your family through it.
